Homes Across Brazil
What to Know About Brazil
The Seasons
Summer runs December to March, hot and busy with the best beach weather. Winter, June to August, is dry and mild in Rio and genuinely cold in the far south.
Carnival
The dates move with Easter. In 2027 it falls 5 to 10 February, with the Rio parades on the 7th, 8th and 9th. Expect the highest prices of the year.
Best Value Months
April and May, then August through November. Quieter, cheaper and still warm across most of the country.
Regional Weather
There is no single dry season. The Northeast is warm year round, Rio is stormiest in summer, and the Amazon runs on its own high and low water cycle.
Entry Requirements
Brazil now requires visas from several nationalities that previously did not need one, including US citizens. Check the rules for your passport before booking flights.
Getting Around
Distances between regions are long and flying is the norm. São Paulo and Rio are the main hubs for domestic connections.
Each one is a different trip: the urban pace, the beaches and hills, the island life.
